This was a very exciting trip, because I got to go to Paris with Minkey Mama’s niece Natalie. I rode in a backpack and stayed at youth hostels and everything. It was even more adventurous than I ever thought, because Natalie started running low on funds and we went to stay at a French family’s home in the country while Natalie worked as their nanny!
Staying with a French family was a real treat. The children were very cute, but spoke very little English, and Natalie wasn’t exactly an expert in the French language either. I chattered to them in Minkey language, thinking maybe they could get that, and talked loud to them, thinking that would make them understand, but nothing worked. So we did a lot of sign language, and tried our best not to cross cultural lines and make nasty signs with our hands and arms. Whew!! That was challenging for a mischievous little Minkey who’s always into some kind of trouble!
ANYway, Natalie took me to some of the cool places there that you HAVE to go to if you visit Paris, like the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elyesse and the Louve. You know the spots. At the Louve, it’s a miracle we didn’t all get arrested, because there was a display stone where something was in storage or repair, and Natalie and her friend put me on it! I’m surprised a buzzer didn’t go off, sending in those funny looking guards with the tall hats. They probably had whistles too, and that would have made the Mink whiz right there in the middle of the famous museum!
The countryside there was beautiful, too. There will be some examples of that on the slideshow of this blog post. It’s below this post, so don’t forget to take a look at those and MOI at some of these famous landmarks.
